If you are interested in obtaining a position within the search marketing industry, or doing SEO in Egypt, you need to be able to pass a rigorous interview. Below are several questions one may encounter during such an interview.
1.) Are you Google Certified?
This is the most basic question you can expect, Although you are applying for an SEO job. Knowing how does Google adwords program work or in general how paid search work is a must for any SEO. Interviewers think how can an SEO claim he can get high natural ranks for their website if that SEO do not understand how Google’s revenue model works?
For example, If a business owns a website about shoes, they would definitely want a lot of shoes buyers to visit their website. But trying to optimize their website to rank for the keyword „Shoes“ would be a very difficult job. More important, the search phrase „Shoes“ would draw significant traffic.
Actually, the traffic will for sure contain both buyers and a significant percentage of non buyers. Knowing which key phrases and keywords converts, for advertisers is a great advantage for SEO efforts.
2.) What is the optimal keyword density should a target phrase be, within a given piece of content?
This is a very tricky question. It tests If your knowledge is up to date or not in SEO. Several years ago Internet marketers and search engine optimization experts discovered a weakness point within Google ranking factors. They discovered that if you repeated your targeted keywords in your content in a certain way. This would make your page or website rank higher on the SERPS.
If the repeated keyword or key phrase represents about 4% to 5% or more of the written content, Google would rank that article for those keywords. In the last couple of years Google took drastic measures on websites who exercise such behavior known as keyword stuffing by penalizing them. Also Google developed its algorithm to read key phrases with the context of the articles or pages on any given website.
Google now can determine if the phrase has been forced into the article or whether it is relevant to it. Nowadays Search engine optimization experts recommend around 2% keyword density.
3.) How many keywords should an SEO expert optimize, on any a given page?
Your search engine optimization efforts might be diluted if you targeted more than 2 or 3 keywords per article or page, this assumes that your article have 500 words of content. If it have more than that there is a chance you can succeed at targeting more than 2 or 3 keywords. If less you have a better chance at targeting 1 or 2 keywords per page.
