A Recent Google Update has Changed the Game

The recent search engine update was a 900 pound gorilla that tore through the SEO industry and ravaged millions of websites in its path.

Many website owners were left wondering what happened and why they suddenly dropped in the search engine rankings. Many who had a good amount of free traffic coming from the engines were left after the update with only a fraction of the visitors they used to have.

So with de-indexation of those sites, the links found on the pages of those websites were also deleted (from the index) and the sites who benefited in the search engine results pages because of those links also took an enormous hit backwards in the process.

There are thousands upon thousands of people that try to make a living from the traffic that comes to their sites from the search engines. So whenever a major update comes out people are effected on way or the other and emotions run very high, understandably.

Not many website owners felt a huge hit from those original updated because the links found in those directories were still intact and being counted.

Some website owners claimed to have seen an improvement in the past few weeks and luckily for them, their competitors took the hit and they moved up into their place.

It was good for some but bad for many. Many will leave the industry all together in the near future and for those that have the vision and the strength to stick around, they will reap the rewards of an easier, less competitive industry.

For those out there that stick around for the long haul, these updates only clear out the weak and make the business easier with less competition.
