The Basics Of Web Design

Many people love the idea of having a web site, but get scared when they hear the phrase „web design“. After all, don’t you need to be an artist with years of computer programming skill to make a great web page? Thankfully, making a good site is not as hard as it sound once you know the basics.

Before you start working on the pretty part of the site, you need to work on your site’s content. After all, people are going to want to visit your page for more than just pretty pictures! Grab a sheet of paper and make a list of the main areas that you think others will want to visit. „About me“, „home“, and „links“ are usually good pages to get your started.

Once you know what you want on your web site, it is time to start organizing! People like it when it’s easy to tell what is where but do not like a flood of links to click. If several similar things go together, it usually is OK to put them on the same page. For example, „About me“ could also tell your hobbies and favorite music instead of having separate pages for your music, your hobbies and you.

Once you have planned out what is going on your web page and how it is organized, it is time to design your site’s layout. The three most important things are ease of use, visibility, and compatibility.

Visibility means that your page is easy to read. Choose two contrasting complimentary colors for your pages. It is important to make sure the colors are very different in shades to make it easy to read. Usually light text on a dark background or dark text on a light background works the best. Also avoid using background images as it makes reading difficult.

Ease of use means that it is easy for people visiting your page to find what they want. All the main pages you came up with earlier should be clearly linked on an easy to read menu that will be in the same place on every one of your pages. If you have any sub pages, a site map linked in the footer of your web page is also a great idea.

Last but not least is compatibility. How well does your website function across multiple browsers? Will something not work in Firefox or cause a slower computer to crash? Generally flash is very bad for compatibility, so avoid using it to make your web site. Using proper W3C compliant code will greatly help your compatibility, so do not be shy to keep yourself updated.

As you can see, web design is not as scary as it sounds. With a little planning and care taken towards visibility, ease of use, and compatibility your web site will be just fine. Do not be afraid to try to go out there and make your site yourself, there is plenty of help out there if you get „stuck“. Have fun with your web page, the world is waiting to hear from you!

Steps To Researching Lawful Companies Online With Gainful Cash Producing Opportunities

There is plenty of money to earn in your spare time taking opinion paid surveys. This type of home based income opportunity is growing in popularity all over the world. Corporations used to rely on individuals that were willing to act as mystery shoppers to gather product feedback, but that has all changed because of the internet.

These days there are a lot of con artists online. It does not take much for someone bent on stealing your money to set up a phony website, and pretend to be a legitimate business. Learning how to distinguish the real from the fake is your responsibility and it will keep you from getting scammed.

Websites that operate lawfully with legitimate opportunities have to occupy the same internet space along with hackers, thieves and con artists. It really pays to do your research in this area as it does in all areas of internet commerce. This is the best way to avoid from being scammed.

Nowadays, you can find hundreds of opportunities online that never previously existed. These opportunities range from taking paid surveys online to joining one of many network marketing opportunities. To keep from getting scammed, you have to thoroughly do your research.

These days it is relatively easy to get background information on a company. Unlike a decade ago when you had to rely on mainly libraries and offline information sources for research, the internet has made research as easy as accessing your favorite search engine such as Google or MSN.

When researching a company or online opportunity to see if they are possible scams, just start by typing in the company name and see if people are giving the company favorable reviews or are publishing a lot of unresolved complaints. It is typical to see a complaint or two associated with a company. You can not please everyone.

The quality of a company’s website says a lot about a company too. When visiting sites look to see if the companies you are interested in have telephone numbers and contact forms listed. Call and email them to request more information about their specific opportunity.

The best scams on the internet right now are those that solicit personal account details such as your personal bank account numbers, social security numbers and other personal information. Lawful companies will never ask for those details. This is not the same as you voluntarily providing your credit card number to make a legitimate purchase, but applies to uninvited solicitations. Do your homework before leaping into any online opportunity.

Build Your Online Assets for Successful Marketing

Many success stories tell of how people are making money without websites by doing effective article marketing. But what such hopeful marketers do not realize is that they can make a lot more money online if they built up their own online assets.

So lets talk about what online marketing assets you have. Do you know what they are? Can you identify them? If not, it is time to learn what they are and how to build them.

Your subscriber list is one of your online marketing assets. The websites that you own and control are your primary online assets. You decide what to put there and how to use them. That establishes a measure of credibility and professionalism that you will need to get branded in a niche market.

When you have built your website on your domain, you have created an online asset. These assets increase in value when you begin to build links to them. That is the purpose of link building.

Your search engine ranking is another valuable online asset. This means you are able to obtain free traffic to a genuine website that can earn income.

Focusing on making money first, then building a business second, is one of the biggest online marketing mistakes. You need to create an infrastructure that builds such assets up continually by using an automated link building site in order to get genuine success like you often see on the sales pages.

If you don’t think about your Internet marketing career as a business then you won’t achieve your goals for a full-time work-at-home income. You won’t see too many Internet marketing gurus or experts that don’t have websites, domain names and subscriber lists.

Those who put in the hard work to establish themselves, as experts will attain success, as successful Internet marketers are well aware of. True success comes from hard work and becoming good at only one thing, then proving it to others. If you automate list building and use link building to build that automation up to a level that is paying for itself, then you have a real business. My friend, that is when you have substantial online assets!

Advantages Of Rank Checking Software As Opposed To Manually Checking

Search engine optimization is the basic groundwork for a website that has been newly launched. Just like any other business man, you would want your online leap to bring progress and success for you. Keeping track of the search engine optimization that has been done for your site is indeed an inevitable task. But imagine if every month this was done automatically without you having to check your page rank manually.

Having a piece of software to carry out this process of checking your page’s search engine rank can save lots of time and is a dream come true for most owners of online enterprises. Another advantage is that automated software is more likely to be 100% accurate than a human being because the mind is prone to errors when carrying out long, tedious tasks.

To over come such issues of time consuming checks having to be carried out and the ease with which a mistake can be made, web rank reporting software has been developed by the professional webmasters and SEO experts as a very fast and efficient way of checking that your strategies are working. So depending on the improvements you see from the results of your check, you could decide to use a different strategy or to intensify the current one if it is doing the job well.

Selecting the right software is very important. You wouldn’t want to invest in cheap software and bungle up your business, would you? In that case look for a cost effective way of checking your page rank and though the investment might seem quite an amount in the beginning the perfect reports it generates could help you make the required changes in your site optimization.

Something that more or less every retail based business in existence needs to understand is that nowadays people are hard pressed for time and money, and so if they can pick up what they need from an online store rather than have to go out to the shop and physically buy it, then they will usually choose the online option, and so having a presence on the web for your business has never been more important.

IVR: Great ROI Time of Economic Uncertainty

In a time of economic uncertainty, when managers are being asked to do more with less, and when cost cutting has become the norm, the ability for IVR (Interactive Voice Response) to assist in accomplishing these objectives has never been more obvious.

Managers are being forced to make difficult choices between high-touch experience delivered by a live agent and low-cost automation delivered by IVR. It is well known that to process a call using a human agent can cost 5-10 times what it costs to answer a similar call using IVR. In the past, managers have chosen to deliver an enhanced customer experience over a much lower-cost automated option. So when it comes time to slash costs, IVR can play a key role. On the other hand its very important not to upset the balance between automation and customer experience. The answer is not to shift every human interaction to an automated interaction, or to use IVR to make it more difficult for customers to speak to a higher-cost live agent.

I would suggest that you start by taking inventory of all your customer interactions. Not only the obvious ones. Your inventory will allow you to prioritize by value contribution, revenue contribution, and cost of each interaction, and pinpoint where IVR can assist you to cut cost, and not significantly upset the balance.

Recently, I received a call from the director of marketing at a company in the health care sector, needing to cut costs by finding an alternative to live agents handling their Diabetes testing kit sampling program. As a sampling program, there was no linked revenue to the call, and the value to the caller was mostly in receiving delivery of the kit on time, which was advertised to over 2.5 million people. Although this was a highly successful program, based on response, fell under the cuts to the marketing budget. The company recognized that the calls could be handled using IVR, however as an untested alternative they wanted to run a short term pilot to measure the impact to the success of the program.

To minimize the risk the company opted for an outsourced IVR approach, which provided financial flexibility by not having to make a long term commitment. In addition, with reduction in the IT budget, outsourcing the implementation and hosting was a perfect match, allowing the company to control costs, and provide commitment flexibility.

Perhaps when the economy recovers, this company and many others alike will move back the high touch approach of live agents, however as hard economic times call for tough measures, IVR is playing a key role and helping managers accomplish their objectives.

Online Marketing Experts and AdWord Campaigns? What Online Marketing Experts Do For Your Business

Online marketing experts and AdWord campaigns apply the same principles as traditional marketing experts in their marketing initiatives. One of these marketing principles are reaching the most amount of potential customers with the least cost possible. However, online marketing experts and AdWord campaigns have different ways on how to achieve this.

Online marketing experts and AdWord campaigns also don?t have the luxury of time as offline marketing specialists. While offline marketing gurus have months or years to develop brand awareness, online marketing experts and AdWord campaigns only have seconds to capture their audience.

There are three tools that online marketing experts and AdWord campaigns use to send their marketing messages. These include affiliate marketing, search engine optimization, and keywords.

Affiliate Marketing Affiliate marketing for online marketing experts is an excellent way to generate leads for a small investment. For those of you who do not know, affiliate marketing is when a business pays a commission to someone for advertising a product or service on their website. The benefits of affiliate marketing are to be had by all because the marketer gets to generate additional sales by having their products and services listed on many sites, and the person doing the marketing makes money from the sales of these products or services without having to be directly involved in the handling of the merchandise.

Search Engine Optimization and Keywords Online marketing experts predominately use search engine optimization, or SEO content, as a tool to increase search engine ranking and generate a higher rate of advertisement placement on web pages. SEO works for online marketing experts because of the way that search engines are structured. By using specific keywords on a web page many times that are related directly to that web pages content and the business in general, the online marketing expert is able to dominate a search query. For example, if you are a horse trainer and you have that phrase on your sites web page many times, then it is highly likely that when someone types „horse trainer“ into a search engine that your web site is more likely to be shown in the top results.

Fact: Successful online marketing experts and AdWord campaigns manager have relevant experience in putting up effective ad campaigns. Over time, they have learned from their mistakes and discovered the best way to deliver results for your online business.

7 Bad Things Seo Clients Do

There are clients SEOs love to have and then there are those other kind. Every SEO has them and very few SEOs can be so selective as to weed out every client that isn’t the „perfect client“ (and those that do generally work only for themselves.)

Being the perfect client may not be attainable, but you can certainly avoid being the bad client nobody wants. Here are seven things bad SEO clients do:

Unreasonable expectations It’s not always the client’s fault when there are unreasonable expectations. Sometimes the SEOs propagate misinformation in order to get the sale. Other times once they get involved in the site things look far different than they originally appeared. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure their expectations are in check with reality, despite any claims of the SEO. This is especially true when it comes to overall expectations vs. monetary investment. There is only so much that can be done with the time and money allotted.

Expectations should be closely guarded with plenty of room for moving the goalpost, depending on the situation. Bad SEO clients expect results outside the bounds of what is likely and refuse to temper those as things change.

Don’t return calls or emails There is nothing worse than an SEO campaign being slowed down or halted by lack of client communication. If your SEO is asking for feedback, there is a reason for it. If they are waiting on you to provide information it’s possible that your campaign will remain at a standstill until they get it. Make it a point to answer all communications from your SEO as quickly as possible. The only person that suffers from holding things up is you!

Clients need to be engaged with the marketing process. Bad SEO clients can often be their own worst enemy and can impair the marketing efforts by not returning calls and emails to the SEO.

Forwarding SEO spam emails Why is it that SEO clients often have trouble with recommendations proposed by their SEO but whenever they get a spam email they forward it asking, „why aren’t you doing this?“ This is the ultimate example of not trusting the SEO. You’re putting your faith in a complete stranger who’s spamming every site they can rather than trusting that your SEO knows what they are doing. If your site can’t be found, did you ever wonder how the spammers found you?

Clients need to be involved in the campaign development process, but bad SEO clients forward every SEO spam email they get. This forces the SEO to take time away from actual SEO work to explain why the email is wrong, why things aren’t as the email says they are, and to defend their work. That’s hours of wasted time.

Overwriting SEO’s work This is a personal pet peeve. SEOs go though a lot of research and effort before making any changes to a client’s site. Whether the changes are a major reworking of a page, or a few minor edits to a title tag, they all have reason and merit. The quickest way to keep an SEO from being successful with your optimization campaign is to overwrite their changes with your own. Fortunately, the CodeMonitor tool will notify the SEOs within 24 hours any time a monitored page changes (we monitor all our client’s optimized pages.) However it’s still up to the client to ensure such overwriting doesn’t happen.

To be successful the SEOs work must remain in tact. Bad SEO client’s don’t take the time to ensure they or their team work only from the live SEOd version of the site.

Argue every recommendation I once had a client that went item by item arguing every recommendation we made. Calls to action? Too lowbrow for his audience. Using keywords? Too pedantic. It’s important for the client to seek to understand the reasoning behind the changes, but you can’t expect the SEO to improve your website’s exposure if you are tying their hands in their efforts. If you don’t agree with what the SEO is doing, give them the rope to hang themselves. Track the results, if conversions drop then undo it. But at least give it a chance to perform.

Clients need to understand the value of what the SEO is doing. Bad SEO clients question every change forcing the SEO to exhaust hours of time explaining and defending every decision.

Try to out SEO the SEO I’m a strong proponent of the client being involved and having an understanding of the overall SEO campaign. However there comes a point where the client has to let the SEO do their job. The SEO was hired because they have a skill set and area of expertise, presumably one the client themselves don’t have. The client can’t assume they know more about SEO than the SEO does and must give the SEO freedom to implement SEO their way.

Working with the SEO with brainstorming and strategy development is a good thing. Bad SEO clients push for every SEO tactic they learn about or supplement their own SEO knowledge into the campaign.

Call/email all the time Communication is essential to a well-oiled optimization machine, but too much of anything is a bad thing. Clients who call the SEO up on a regular bases because they want to talk about this, that or the other, are not doing themselves any favors. Whether they want to talk strategy, success, implementation or whatever, these communications must be done in an orderly fashion. The SEO should not be expected to field regular unwarranted calls from the client that suck up the time they would otherwise be investing in that client’s SEO campaign.

Clients should be interested in their campaign but not at the expense of the campaign itself. Bad SEO clients spend more time talking to the SEO than the SEO has available, preventing them from doing the job they were hired for.

SEOs love to work with good clients. Consequently, good SEO clients get better results than bad SEO clients. Bad SEO clients suck up the SEO’s time, create distractions from the campaign and prevent the SEO from doing the things that get the results the client ultimately wants. Ensuring that you are not a bad SEO client also ensures that the SEO can focus on your success.

Internet Marketing Is So Much Fun

Search Engine Optimization. Doesn’t sound like a lot of fun, does it? Even when you call it SEO, it still just sounds so… technical. Thankfully, SEO doesn’t have to be some sort of dreadful thing.

Once you learn a bit about SEO, you might find that SEO can be a lot of fun. Search engine optimization is essentially the practice of using keywords (the words people type into Google or other search engines) in the text of your website, articles and other material online. Let’s put it this way ? say that you have a website which sells camping tents. If you want people to be able to find your site easily by using search engines, you’ll want to optimize your website for the words and phrases which people use when searching the web for camping tents.

SEO doesn’t have to be terribly complicated and you can have fun doing it. The secret is to look at optimizing your text as something fun rather than a chore. Once you practice a little and gain some skill at it, you’ll find that it’s something you enjoy doing. So what can you do to make SEO fun? Make a game of it. Here’s how ? start by just writing down everything you’d like to say on your website. Don’t worry too much about your keywords yet, just write! After you get your first draft down, go through it and identify all of the keywords and key phrases you’ve already included. Next, go back and try to work in other keywords which you didn’t include the first time. One trick is to try replacing pronouns like „it“ that refer to a keyword. Make sure that your text still makes sense though!

Of course while you are having fun with SEO, don’t go too crazy with it. Remember that too much SEO can be as bad as none at all. While it may look okay to you, it will make the text overdone. Usually you’ll find that it is recommended to have about 1-2% keyword density within your articles. Basically this means that for every 100 words that you write, you should have 1-2 keywords in that 100 words. So, if you write an article that is 400 words long, then you should have anywhere from 4-8 keywords in the entire article. When you are trying to hit the right amount of keywords, make it into a game and see how close you can get to the right amount the very first time that you try.

Yes, SEO needs to be well balanced, but it is nowhere near as difficult as so many think it will be. If you take the time to be well informed and you work at it, you can make SEO fun to work on. Just make sure that you do your SEO like you would chocolate chip cookies. You need enough chocolate chips to have great flavor, but if you have too many, you will have a huge mess. Remember this when working on SEO. Make it fun, keep it balanced, and you’ll find that the SEO just falls into place for you.

The Insider Secrets to Network Marketing – The Other Side Of The MLM Industry

If you ever come across network marketing secrets, just keep in mind they are a dime a dozen. The majority of everyone who comes online is looking for an easy way to do things, but there is a secret behind the madness. It’s the process that we put in place to turn a complete stranger into a business associate.

So how can you do this successfully? Unfortunately this is the part where most network marketers fail. Once a prospect is in front of them, they immediately turn around and want to sales pitch them.

Have you ever been told how great a company is and someone try to sell you? It happens everyday to millions of people, and it’s going to happen again. What about, „If you don’t join now you’ll be sorry!“ Uhm…does this make you just want to grab your credit card?

The Secret is To Presell

The single best network marketing secret out there is to presell before you ever even think about asking for the sale. There are a couple of gurus out there today who positively excel in teaching this technique. For instance, Mike Dillard, who can be found at Magnetic Sponsoring, and Ann Sieg, who is from Renegade Network Marketer, teach constantly that you must first attract and teach prospects.

Many network marketers don’t take their advice. They are too impatient and too eager, and they jump in there and give that sales pitch time and time again. But this is their critical mistake. You can do things differently-and you can succeed using this essential secret to network marketing success simply by following their advice.

Preselling involves taking an interest in educating your prospect. When you do that, you never need to give a sales pitch at all! The relationship evolves naturally and is much stronger than if you tried delivering a sales pitch. Here’s how it works when done correctly:

1. Your lead funnel lands a prospect (perhaps someone comes to your landing page).

2. You are contacted by them about your opportunity. Their initial reaction is that you’re about to unleash your sales pitch. However, you change everything up and talk to them about how to get from a starting point to their goals.

3. Each subsequent communication from you focuses on educating this prospect about how and why someone would want to build a successful online business. Your messages focus on the importance of providing other people with information they need and can use. Your message never ever gives any kind of sales pitch.

4. Following communications conducted over a period of time-usually three weeks or more-the prospect trusts you and understands that you are sincerely interested in helping other people succeed in building an online business. They ask you what online network company you work with. A good number of them will inquire about how they, too, can join in this successful endeavor.

Hopefully, by now you can see why preselling really is the single best network marketing secret. It involves helping other people visualize their own long term goals and begin to create a plan for achieving them. Then they discover that you may be able to help them and come to you to get involved. You never even have to ask for the sale at all!
