Discover The Good And Bad About Network Marketing And Make An Informed Decision

It is important to discover the good and bad about Network Marketing because only if you understand the pros and cons you can make an informed decision. Also called MLM (multilevel) marketing, network marketing has a strong appeal because of it is seems to be a simple means of making good money, especially if you are going through a lean patch or when you are without a job and even if you are preparing to start a new business venture.

It makes sense to first discover the good and bad about Network Marketing and then decide how you want to proceed. You need to learn that Network Marketing is not about a getting rich quickly or earning money with very little investment. As a matter of fact, it is something that can help you earn a tidy sum of money and many others have in fact done just that. However, all this is achieved only after working hard for it and it also requires commitment and dedication without which you will not be able to earn the kind of money that can be called substantial.

The bad side to Network Marketing is that the opportunities available in making money out of selling products and services are not as wide or varied as is the case with conducting personal sales. In fact, eighty percent of all sales are actually affected through personal contacts which leave a meager twenty percent that are conducted online.

Even then, the Internet continues to be a powerful medium and one that should be used to your advantage and the best way of doing so is creating a website that should attract and support your downline so that a lot of buyers come to your site looking to buy your products and/or services. It is however important that you give your website a unique domain name and one that does not impinge on any other domain name.

The good part about Network Marketing is that you will gradually become a more adept network marketer and you will soon acquire necessary skills to help you run your business. This means that with time you will get to understand how to sell products and services and manage your time more efficiently as well as always be motivated to continue despite facing rejections.

In this way your time as a network marketer will help you become stronger and more resilient.

The good things about network marketing include earning as much as you wish to earn and so you need to be good at leveraging your business. You can make money over and over again for just one transaction. The bad things are getting people in your downline to be committed to creating more money.

For people that want to get their marketing started online, you should go to a network marketing firm. They can provide you the best and accurate way to start network marketing.

Link Baiting For Seo ? Should I Reciprocally Link Or Not?

You have perhaps been told that getting links from other sites related to your own website genre is generally a good idea. Perhaps you have even gotten quite a few email requests to this effect.

Most of us seo professionals know what this term means, but for the less geeky it simply means getting others to link to your site from their own.

Traditionally, this was done by exchanging links between sites, and initially search engines had no problem with this but the search engines soon began to devalue these reciprocal efforts due to not just the potential for spam but due to the fact that a sort of REAL link spam that was taking place in this area.

The word „Spam“ is known by some as ham, but in internet lingo it is also known as the email that floods your inbox and makes it difficult to find the real mail.

I.e. some marketers send out unsolicited commercial spam email to millions of unsuspecting users. Others created fake websites and pages with links back to their own – not the phrase „their own“ – commercial products – thus creating a need for Google and other search engines to objectively create quality ranking scores to determine the relationship between linking sites. In those early days, the search engines were not looking at the following things such as which reciprocal links were owned by the same group or which 5 linking websites were on the same machine. In order to slow down those who would fill our inboxes with junk, this data is deemed to be rather important for determining exactly who the spammers are.

It is said that successful backlinking depends very heavily on the keywords one chooses – traditionally, this has been where most linking efforts have failed.

Why? We have no idea exactly how others will link to our online assets. And in direct contradiction to what you might be reading around the net, therein lies a big part of the problem, right?

Secondly, since as a casual reader, one is not likely to be an expert on niche market keywords, you are going to most logically try to pick the keywords having the most traffic. Would this be the correct thing to do? A brand new website, even after being indexed by MSN or most search engines, typically has no chance at ranking on its chosen keywords for many months if not years.

So, possibly a waste of time, right?

But there is yet one more major problem. The page rank of new articles is N/A or after indexing, typically Zero where Zero is not good and 10 is the best. Although some may argue this while a new page with N/A or O as its rank will have a freshness quotient that can help it positively, in most search engines, this zero which is evidence of lack of credibility will most likely work negatively against it.

Exceptions to this – if the newly created page is sitting on a highly popular web2.0 social network property like squidoo or craigslist, bebo or scribd to name a few then it won’t be penalized as much just because its current pagerank or credibility level appears to be a zero.

We suspect these exceptions work because, it is thought that new pages on foundation sites such as those with a credibility level of 5 or above, inherently acquire some of the PageRank or PageTrust of the site that they rest on.

Technical babble galore – the question really is – So, what’s a girl to do?

Google would say, go back to fundamentals, content and be innovative. They would recommend strongly that you even create „link-bait“ that will cause others to want to link to you.I like both this phrase and the thought if you have any idea what this link-bait thing means. Ignoring Google’s advice is always done at your own peril, however I urge you to examine the issue more deeply. Do you really have the 6-18 months that it takes to consistently create new articles almost daily, and to put out such a ferocious amount of intensely likable content in one spot that would cause people to socially bookmark that page on your site – If the answer is no then you understand why most of us will never ever intentionally create link-bait.

There has to be ways around this. What should one do?

Search Engine Optimization For Network Marketing

Search Engine Optimization is a significant part of what I carry out every day. It is part of who I am at this point in time. I have been Engaged in seo optimization before Google was started.

A bit of search engine optimization history, during the early times of Altavista and OpenText was when seo was created. And that’s when I made incredible amounts of 7 figure money for several very specific industries.

Seo has always been about getting your site as high in the search results as possible

Is the most important thing the quantity of visitors that arrive ? That is an interesting question to ponder.

If you have a business in which the number of visitors is not the only important factor, but visitors that purchase are then any position on page one of google serps is going to potentially bring you some small measure of business.

If you are on page one but in position number 5 then your traffic is truly a trickle compared to what websites in the number 1, 2 or 3 positions in the serps are getting for your chosen keywords.

If one hundred visitors daily review a certain Google Search engine result page, and your web property is in position 7 Through 10, you may be consider yourself grateful to get just 3 of those searchers. Don’t ever think that human searchers evenly click on the top 10 positions. Natives to Mars might but not us variable humans. Positions five through ten may get a total of just 12 visitors while position 3 all on its own gets 6 visitors, and the highly coveted positions of one and two may together receive twenty five to thirty.

Some of you would be scratching your heads and saying Trevor, go back to public school because your math doesn’t add up to 100. Correct, you would be, but you can stop laughing because of the 100 visitors that arrive at that search page, a few will click on the paid ads at the top and right and perhaps more than fifty percent will really just try another search term or phrase.

This is what many of us do, right?

Making people click on your ad in the natural or organic serps is another art form entirely. A description such as „The ultimate cure for breast cancer …“ will obviously get far more clicks than a rather ordinary description like „Information on breast cancer…“

The goal however isn’t just about just getting into the top 10 positions on the search engines, its really about getting your would-be Purchasers to take action ( on your listing in the search results ).

So, if your wonderful friends won’t or just can’t voluntarily link back to your web property using your most wanted keyword phrases what can you do? The answer, is not so simple, but in a way it is, though it requires hundreds or thousands of hours of networking with your peers type of work, you must find a way to get it done yourself.

Pay Per Click Conundrum – Google the cash hole ?

Google profits are soaring and pundits are exclaiming that though this stock is gold it must be close to over performing; so why would anyone make a statement like this : Pay per click Advertising in Google is Dead.

Well it could be a little further from the truth, ha ha, but not much. In reality, Google’s stock isn’t exactly roaring ( nobody’s is at the moment ) but the latest online Neilson polls show Google with a commanding 63-71% of the market place and continuing it’s slow but relentless climb.

Would Google’s popularity hurt the customers? No, its a win win for them with more advertisers, more choices and google pumping more resources into faster servers etc. How would this work at a auto or car auction if the bidding area was suddenly flooded with triple the number of bidders. Bidders who perhaps stopped off on their way to a casino ? Would the trucks be cheaper or more expensive?

So now you understand the position of those buying from Google’s keyword bidding system. The more competition is the bigger the profit for Google and the more that the bidders get raked over the coals. And for us poor sods who are purchasing – is the more expensive the cherished keyphrases are per click.

Perhaps the rumor of the demise of Pay Per Click really applies to the only group actually hurt by Google’s increasing ad revenue stream – those that find themselves with 3 times as many angry competitors bidding for the same keyphrases.

If those cash rich players on the way to the local casino actually don’t spend all their time in the bathroom, they are likely to bid on a few cars just for the hell of joining a live gambling arena.

So, now you understand what we mean by the death of pay per click? When there are too many bidders bidding for the same set of keywords, the price is going to go up. Some of the bidders will have deep pockets and nothing else.

Rich gamblers getting off the bus and bidding on the dream car you have been waiting months to see roll down the auction line is going to make you real happy right?

How about paying 10 dollars per click for the keyword „marketing“? A little too expensive right? ( and broad while you’re at it, lol ) Just 101 clicks later and you have topped the magic thousand dollar mark. I hope you have a real expensive product to sell, ha ha.

Not funny right? But this scenario is being played out all over the pay per click world all day long.

Suppose I told you that while a few of us having been noticing this trend lately, that a few guys have been taking action. A few weeks ago, while consulting for a real estate friend, Randy, I noticed that over 40 real estate brokers were bidding in Google for 3 key phrases and almost no one in Yahoo.

By the end of the week, my Google adwords account had recorded just less than 10,000 impressions on just 4 popular search terms. My Yahoo Search marketing account had barely cleared a thousand.

Nimbly and joyfully the gang of 40 plus real estate agents in Toronto bid the pricing above the 1 dollar mark, while the Yahoo search costs stayed under 10 cents.

Increasing the revenue from your blog

A blog is an expression of yourself in written form. Basically, it is your thoughts, your ideas, your stories, your opinions, and your information displayed through your written voice. Blogs can be written on just about anything. Although making your blog pay you may not have been the original goal, it is certainly something that most blog owners wouldn’t say no to, if they could make it happen. Earning revenue via your blog can be a very satisfying experience.

The blog originates back to the beginnings of the internet. Blogging started out as a diary or journal that captured the daily lives of people. The word blog actually came from the word weblog. Weblog was the term developed by Jorn Barger and later shorten to blog by Peter Merholz. During the 1999s, the popularity of the blog exploded with blog hosting sites such as „Open Diary“ and „LiveJournal“.

It was in the political realm and news reporting that made blogging famous. The fall of the U.S. Senator Majority Leader Trent Lott in 2002 was widely attributed to bloggers. The bloggers brought to light some comments not made public by the media. Senator Lott was forced to step down from the controversy.

It wasn’t just politics that bloggers were interested in. Dan Rather, the news anchor of CBS, reported about President Bush’s military record. The validity of the documents presented was called into question by bloggers. In depth research revealed the documents to be forged and the „rather popular“ Dan Rather was fired over the incident. CBS was forced to issue an apology.

Some bloggers have a hard time keeping fresh content in their blogs or other activities come up that steal away their time. When this happens, they often put their blogs along with the domain name up for sale. This is where you can make money without actually having to write a blog. You can buy these lower priced blogs, fix them up a little just like you would for a renovation on an inexpensive house and then resell them for a profit.

Other bloggers are attempting to grab a piece of the millions of available advertising dollars by putting ads on their blog. Visitors leaving those blogs often click on the ads and for each click, the owner gets some small revenue. Google Adsense, and Adbright are just two of the many online entities that allow you to customize ads for your blog.

The great thing about ad revenues is that you can be collecting revenue, even if you have ignored your blog for quite some time. If however, visitors have been commenting on your blog and keeping it alive or constantly changing for the search engines, then you traffic will be increasing along with your residual income. There are tricks and tips to the size of the ad format relative to its surroundings and the placement of the ad that can make up to 400% more money for you, so before you run out and just put Google’s adsense on your blog, read up on this a little more.

Selling products from your blog is a good way to make the traffic on your blog work for you. Your blog can help you promote items that you wish to sell. A percentage of each item sold goes to you. Note that this is percentage of the sale which is different from google ads where you get a percentage of the Click earnings. When starting out, you might want to pick products that you use and are familiar with. It is easier to connect with the customer when you know what you are talking about.

Clickbank is the king of info products and can pay commissions as high as 75%. But Commission Junction, and LinkShare are also great sites that engage in drop shipping and lead generation for commission. Literally, thousands of products are available for you to market. Putting a related product image with an affiliate tag from CJ into a related article on your blog can only help not hurt your chances.

Just remember, too many ads are a turn-off to potential customers. Messy looking blogs with too much advertising turns away customers and everyone runs from over-commercialization. So keep your blogs looking like they are offering more information than advertising and you should be doing just great.

Getting more people to visit your blog is important to generating sales or getting more ad revenue. The more people who visit your site, the more potential for income that you have. Traffic can be directed toward your blog by commenting in other topic related blogs and leaving your own blog address in those. Consider putting your blog address in your signature as your comment in forums and don’t be shy to put your blog url/address in your Facebook, Hi5, Orkut, Linkln or Myspace accounts for more curiousity seeking traffic.

Yahoo and MSN search engines prioritize blogs. To keep your blog on top, keep adding new content. Alert your readers to new content by submitting your blog to many of the ping services available. New content will automatically send a ping/alert to the 100-200 search engines particularly if you have added more ping services than the default rpc.pingomatic.com that is set up in your blog writing options area. This will re-prioritize your blog to higher levels in the search engines.

Making money from your blog is a realistic and achievable goal. It does take some work and elbow grease type investment to figure out the combination that works best for you. When it does succeed, its often a pleasant surprise to see small checks coming in continuously. Many of the ideas mentioned above are general commonsense ideas. Some of you may have known about them, and for some there may be just a little new information here. Understand however, that while these are all great ideas, implementing them in exactly the right way to make a ton of money is typically a trial and error process that many of you can relate to. Suppose however that there was a way to cut through the wasted trials and use an existing formula that simply works? Read a review of 5 of the web’s best known blog authors, whom all make 7 to 8 figure salaries from their blogs.
