Common Mistakes Made by MLM Distributors

It is unfortunate but many people who are involved with MLM often make many mistakes, however this is not through their own inadequacy or incompetence. Instead, it is because, nine times out of ten, they are following the instructions and directions of their MLM company, or upline.

Usually, distributors are advised to approach their family members and friends which is called a ‚warm‘ market, but this is often the main reason why so many of them result in failure, because they are not looking to start their own business in the first place. When you are in contact with your Upline, ask about Lead companies, and, when you are then promoting your MLM business, try to use only funded proposals as this will enable you to generate money upfront.

There is a lot of hype in the MLM industry. People hear that they will enjoy so much success that they will even be able to retire after only six months of operation. They will be told that they can even use their Upline’s excess contacts. But this is not true. Success will not be instantaneous at all. It will take at least two years for you to build a list of contacts, or to transfer an already pre-built downline from another company. You will need to be prepared to devote the time and effort to building a good base of core distributors in order for you to enjoy any kind of success. Patience is key and a you should have a plan that you can follow while you are growing your business. Once you have the plan in place it is imperative that you not jump from one company to another one, as even someone with plenty of experience with MLM would find that to be rather difficult.

The Third Mistake is the choice of company or products. There are many different estimates, but there are probably 15 million MLM distributors in the USA and it may grow by 5 million more distributors 5 years from now. You might think that this is a huge market, but one very major dynamic has changed. Up until about 1990, there were maybe only about 100 viable MLM Companies. When we look at the present situation, there are literally 1000’s of new MLM Company startups yearly.

What does this mean? Everybody is competing for a smaller and smaller share of the available distributor base. So, if your MLM company is marketing the latest „Juice Secret Product from deep in the Chinese Mountains“, be certain that 100’s of others will at least offer the same product, and for some of them it will be their flagship product too.

You would be far better off if you chose a MLM company that offers tools that the actual industry itself needs, such as Leads. This would then mean that those fifteen million people mentioned above would be your market instead of only a portion.

While you may feel discouraged you can rest assured that making a success of your MLM business is quite possible. The important thing is to do what you can to avoid making any of the mistakes that are mentioned above. If you are careful and make smart informed decisions you can, and will, find success in your MLM business.
